Being a #dogsitter has to be one of the funnest and most rewarding jobs on earth. In the past 7 years I’ve been fortunate enough to care for other people’s family members as if they were my own. Needless to say it’s hard not to become attached, especially to those who steal your heart in a very special way.
“Chocolate Charlie” was one of those dogs.
He was my first ever client when I moved my business to #Ramona. I immediately fell in love with his big #EnglishLabrador chocolate face and loving demeanor.
I wasn’t the only one who fell in love that day. My dog Yosemite and Charlie had a VERY special bond from the first meet and greet. He was undeniably her best friend and true love.
Charlie got to spend many adventures and staycations with us enjoying awesome doggy pool pawties, hikes, making new furiends, LOTS of fetch, love and attention. He was the friendliest and sweetest #ChocolateLab I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting and caring for.
It is with great sadness that I received a call yesterday to learn he has been battling an aggressive type of Lymphoma. At only 5 years of age, this was an extremely difficult an unexpected piece of news for all to digest, especially his family.
Incredibly heartbroken, I remain grateful I was given an opportunity to visit with him and spend some time saying goodbye before his journey to rainbow bridge yesterday.
While this video falls short in highlighting his amazing canine soul, I hope it brings your family memories they can treasure and comfort to all who loved you.
You will FUREVER be missed from the Shellz Pack Charlie, but ALWAYS in my heart and Yosemite’s ❤️🙏🐶🐾
